Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnn Kymes, as well as Krauss were among the earliest Grammy Award-winners. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23rd, 1971) is an American bluegrass-country singer and musician. Alison Maria Krauss started her music career as a child she was winning competitions in her local area at the age of 10. Her first recording was her first album at fourteen. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and recorded her first single album, a solo one in the year 1987. She was invited to join Alison Krauss & Union Station together with whom she performed.
